It all begins with a phone call to me at (470) 531-8400 or an email to [email protected]. If I am in a session or away from my desk, please leave a message and I will call you back. I know that sometimes when making this decision, people may call several therapists and schedule with the first therapist to return their call. I want to encourage a little patience. It's worth it to find a therapist that you will truly connect with.
During our initial call, I will gather some information and answer your questions. We will then schedule an appointment for an hour long assessment session; and I send you a packet of introductory paperwork electronically to be completed ahead of your appointment time. This will lay the groundwork for understanding your unique situation.
What’s the first appointment usually like?
At our first appointment, we will review your paperwork and discuss the specifics of your case. We will also spend some time discussing your goals and strengths that can prove helpful in your healing. During this time, we will consider if my therapy services will be a good fit for your needs. Together we will begin to create the foundation that will help to achieve your goals.
When are you available for sessions?
Currently, I schedule appointments during the following times:
Mondays: 10:00 am till 7:00 pm (in office or virtual)
Tuesdays: 10:00 am till 5:00 pm (in office or virtual)
Wednesdays: 10:00 am till 5:00 pm (in office or virtual)
Thursdays: 10:00 am till 6:00 pm (virtual only)
Please call my office for specific availability.
Do you take insurance?
I currently accept Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare/Optum, and Humana insurance.
It is also possible that your session can be reimbursed fully or in part by your insurance company through your out-of-network benefits. We can provide you with a superbill (an invoice that includes service information and diagnostic codes) that you can submit to your insurance provider. Please be aware that a diagnosis has to made for insurance reimbursement, and not all insurances cover out-of-network mental health services. Please verify with your insurance provider if out-of-network counseling services are covered.
Below are some good questions to ask when contacting your provider:
•Does my coverage include mental health benefits? •What is my deductible and has it been met? •How many sessions per year does my plan cover? •What is the coverage amount per therapy session? •How do I file a claim for an out-of-network provider?
What is your fee for a therapy session?
Most sessions are between 45-55 minutes and the self-pay cost is $150 per session. Payment is required at the time of each session. I accept cash, credit cards, and HSA cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
A 24 hour notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee. Your cancellation fee will not be reimbursed by insurance.
